Over the last few weeks we have lost music legends and the world has been in mourning. I felt a deep sadness at their passing, but also a beautiful gratitude for all they put into the world and I felt honoured to have been able to share in their gifts. I am grateful...
As a writer, handing over my manuscript to the editor was like chopping off an arm. But not really, because I know what that feels like…and this wasn’t it. It was hard, though. Like I was handing over a piece of me. Writing it was a huge part of my life...
I’m a spiritual counsellor and naturopath with a holistic therapy and shamanic healing practice in Auckland and Mangawhai, New Zealand. I guide people to heal and empower themselves, move past pain and trauma, and transform their lives.
In my twenties an abusive relationship culminated in my hands being chopped off with a samurai sword. I was airlifted to hospital and surgeons worked around the clock to successfully replant my hands, for which I am eternally grateful. Now I'm on a mission to make a positive difference in the world through writing, speaking engagements, domestic violence awareness and prevention, and assisting others on their healing journeys.
Writing, reading, flower essences, horses, yoga, music, inspiring people, and spending time in nature rejuvenate me.
For over a decade I journaled my experiences of abuse and healing, and independently published "Double-edged Sword ~ The Simonne Butler Story" November 2016 in partnership with Mary Egan Publishing with a view to ending domestic and sexual violence in our homes and communities.
